Easter 2015

Easter is seriously an underrated holiday. As a Christian, love the meaning of the celebration, but I also love the Spring time weather, the yummy food and of course dying eggs : )

This post will mainly consist of the food we ate! That’s what holidays are all about, don’t you think??

The entire day Thursday was spent shopping and planning for the weekend, so we decided to have fun at supper that night!

253We made these awesome little sandwiches on some bread my mom found called “White House Rolls”. They were so tender and sweet! Perfect for these little sandwiches. We put ham, mayonnaise and cheese on some and roast beef, horseradish and cheese on others.

On the side we made curly fries! My mom has had this since before I was born, which I think is hilarious. It was dusty, but we washed it off and it worked just fine!

277My sister Michelle came home Friday night after work, and my mom boiled some shrimp and crab claws. I love her little Crab attachment for her “Happy Everything! Plate”.

We stayed up way too late on Friday night, of course and actually did a midnight WalMart run…

Saturday was spent shopping as well. We went to KMart, Belk and Walgreen’s. I actually got a lot of stuff! I’m going to do a post about what I got later!

My other sister Natalie came on Saturday afternoon with her husband and my nephew, Mack! I was so excited to see “my baby”! It had been too long : )

Of course we dyed eggs on Saturday! Me and Natalie were very into it, but I had to force B to join in on the fun. As you can see, he was super excited!

We meant to have a contest to see who did the best, but we forgot… I think we know who the winner was ; )

My family throws down for holidays, as you can see…

It was tough waking up Sunday morning for church! I stayed up late the night before getting everything ready for the meal. I made the deviled eggs, pimento cheese, potato salad and a cake!

This cake was AMAZING. It’s Lemon Blueberry with Cream Cheese frosting.

I found the recipe here.

I hope you all had a great Easter with family, and remember the reason we celebrate! He is Risen!
