What’s Up Wednesday? September 2017

I did this back in January, and I never did it again… Shocker! but I love these kind of updates, so I thought it would be fun to do another one… Maybe this will become a monthly thing, but I’m not making any promises…

  • What we’re eating this week…

Tuesday: Fajita Chicken Bake
Wednesday: Meatloaf with Green Beans & Mashed Cauliflower
Thursday: Spaghetti Squash Chicken Alfredo
Friday: Steaks on the grill, Salad and Baked Potato for B
Saturday: Spinach & Artichoke Dip Stuffed Chicken
Sunday: Dinner at a Church Event
Monday: Skillet Buffalo Chicken with Salad

  • What I’m reminiscing about…

I cannot believe I am even typing this, but we have a cat. I don’t think I’ve ever even blogged about her? I don’t even know… But, this is Pepper. And as of August 29th, we have had her for a whole year!

I am not a cat person, and I have said many times that we would never have a cat… But when this skinny, whiny, pitiful kitten crawled over to us on the playground at school on hot afternoon last year, my heart just broke! I had to save her. And a certain husband of mine just could not stand the thought of us taking her to ARF… So here we are, 1 year later. We have a cat.

  • What I’m loving…

I love makeup and trying to new products, and this line has been on my radar for a while. I finally decided to try it and I am loving it so far! Ashley Sievert Beauty is a small company out of Louisiana. The foundation is mineral, lightweight and long wearing, and I love it! I wear a heavier foundation in the summer so it will withstand the heat and humidity, but in the winter I like wearing something a little lighter. This foundation feels so good on the skin and really does last all day! I really am loving it!

  • What I’ve been up to…

Fall cleaning! I am getting ready for the transition to cooler weather, and I want to get these things done before I pull out the fall decor. I love this website  for home organization ideas and tips. They have so many free resources!

  • What I’m dreading…

Transferring all my summer and winter clothes. I know I still have a while before the “cold weather” clothes come out, but my tank tops and shorts are pretty much ready to be put up. I’m just dreading it. It takes FOREVER because I have a lot of clothes (no shame). Definitely my least favorite part of the seasons changing!

  • What I’m working on…

Skin Care!
I know that I’m not anywhere near “old” but I do realize I’m not a teenager anymore! I needed to start taking better care of my skin, and start looking at anti-aging stuff. I’ve been trying different products, but these are 2 of my favorites.

This night cream is super moisturizing and feels so good on my skin after I take all my makeup off before bed. It has ceramides, which help replace lipid levels (our skin’s natural protective barrier) and niacinamide, which helps soothe irritation and reduce redness.

This eye cream contains caffeine which instantly refreshes and reduces the bags under my eyes! I definitely feel like my eyes are less puffy than they were before I started using this product.

  • What I’m excited about…

The fall! I’m so basic, I know… But I’m so excited about cooler weather and fall fashion. I live for booties and skinny jeans. And yes, I do love Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Don’t judge.

  • What I’m watching…

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing “good” about hurricanes and severe weather. But, there is definitely something fascinating about them! I have been glued to The Weather Channel, either on my TV or my phone. B makes fun of me, because I always know the most recent when he asks. But I really am super into it! I should have been a weather girl : )

  • What I’m listening to…

John Mark McMillan’s new album Mercury & Lightning! Y’all, I know I’m a fan, so of course I like the new album. But for real, this is so good. The lyrics, the music, and the feel of the album… It’s just so good! Definitely part of my fall playlist…

  • What I’m reading…

The Sisterhood by Bobbie Houston.

I am so into this book right now. Bobbie Houston is the wife of Brian Houston, pastor of the mega church Hillsong in Australia. This book is about the significant part that women play in the church, and I absolutely love it. She is such a gifted writer, but the message behind it rings so true for me.

  • What I’m wearing…

I don’t have a photo, but these leggings are amazing. They are only $10.99 (and qualify for Amazon Prime) and feel like butter! They are so soft and comfortable! I have both the capri ones and the full-length. Definitely would recommend!

  • What I’m doing this weekend…

The weather this weekend is supposed to be in the low 80’s, and I’m excited to get outside. I think we will go to one of the local trails and walk in the morning, before having a relaxing Saturday! I’m super pumped because it’s been way too hot to do anything outside lately…

  • What I’m looking forward to next week…

Mack’s first soccer game! Next Saturday, his season starts and I’m so excited to see him “play”! I know it will just be organized chaos in a lot of ways, but I cannot wait to see him in his uniform! (Insert heart eyes here).
