This morning I let myself sleep in a little. I woke up around 9:30 and then started getting the house ready for the party.
I love throwing parties and cooking yummy food, and I knew this was going to be a BIG game! I have been planning this party since Alabama's football schedule was announced! : )
I kept the spread pretty simple. The game was at 3:30, so I didn't really want to cook a "meal" as much as I wanted to have lots of different snacks.
I made my favorite trio of dips: Salsa, Guacamole & Cilantro Dip, along with jalapeno poppers. I tried a new recipe (by Trisha Yearwood) for jalapeno bites. I wasn't really a fan, but some of the guys at the party really liked them!
It was a dreary day all day! The guys braved the elements and played cornhole for a little while. I stayed inside and dry :)
For the main course I set up a make-your-own sandwich bar. We had turkey, ham and roast beef along with provolone, cheddar and muenster cheese.
My sweet husband made these awesome wings too! I love grilled wings. I think it's the best way to cook them! I am hoping to blog this recipe soon : )
I made a pumpkin roll for dessert and it was so good. I love fall desserts! Pumpkin. Spice. Everything.
Me and B were proud Alabama fans at the end of the night. The Tide ended up on top, 38-10! Roll Tide, y'all.
